The architectural design and construction of Building A,B,C, Sheds 13, and 14 had already been completed prior to the involvement of Arikoglu Architects. Accordingly, the firm’s scope of work was limited exclusively to the interior architecture of the selected units presented in this page.

Unit B07, located on the first floor of Building B, is a single-level one bedroom unit. In contrast, Unit B04, situated within Shed 14, presents a more complex spatial configuration, featuring a 3 bedroom unit with double-height spaces and the preservation and integration of a historic Jacquard element as a defining component of the interior architecture.

Brief descriptions of each unit are provided below.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”2356″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” onclick=”img_link_large” css=””][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator color=”chino” css=””][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]

Unit B04

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]

B04 Residential Unit – Interior Architecture Description

Unit B04 is a two-level loft-style residential unit organized around a central double-height space that visually connects both floors. Circulation corridors on the upper level flank this void, reinforcing spatial continuity and creating strong visual relationships throughout the unit. While this arrangement reduces usable floor area, it was intentionally designed to enhance spatial quality, openness, and visual depth.

The unit is located within one of the former textile factory sheds of Pichler Park, part of an adaptive reuse strategy that transforms the original industrial cells into residential spaces. B04 represents Arikoglu Architects’ first interior design intervention within a shed unit, responding carefully to the existing structure and proportions.

A defining feature of the unit is the adaptive reuse of an original Jacquard structure from the historic textile factory. This element was preserved and integrated into the interior architecture to frame the central double-height space. Several of its structural columns remain exposed, most notably the column embedded within the kitchen area. By retaining and revealing these original components, the design establishes a tangible connection between the building’s industrial past and its contemporary residential use, allowing the memory of the early 20th-century factory to remain legible within a modern living environment.

The unit has dual access, with entrances from both the east and west. The west side opens directly to a terrace that connects to the outdoor landscape, strengthening the relationship between interior and exterior spaces. Upon entry at ground level, a small entrance area provides a coat closet and a seating zone for everyday use, such as preparing to enter or leave the unit.

Beyond the entrance, a short hallway leads to a guest bathroom on the right and to a sculptural staircase that connects the two levels. The staircase functions as a multifunctional interior element: a built-in bookshelf runs along its south side, integrated storage is located beneath, and a TV unit on the west side serves the living area. All components are designed as part of a single modular system, creating a cohesive interior feature.

The ground floor also includes an open-plan kitchen and dining area, similar in concept to Unit B07. Custom-designed cabinetry and shelving systems frame the dining table and support daily use, reflecting the firm’s contemporary interior language.

The upper level accommodates the private spaces. The master bedroom is designed with generous ceiling heights made possible by the modified shed geometry. A walk-through closet leads to a concealed study room accessed via a sliding door, adding an element of spatial surprise. Although the bedroom does not have direct exterior windows due to the original shed structure, an interior window wall allows indirect natural light from the skylights to enter the space.

A secondary bedroom, designed as a modestly sized children’s room, faces west and includes a custom-designed corner single bed. Throughout the unit, lighting fixtures were carefully selected to complement the modern architectural language, while glass railings along the upper level enhance openness and reinforce the contemporary character of the interior.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”2356,2355,2354,2353,2352,2351,2350,2349,2348,2347,2346,2345,2344,2343,2342,2341,2340,2339,2338,2337,2336″ css=””][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”2367″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” onclick=”img_link_large” css=””][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”2369″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” onclick=”img_link_large” css=””][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator color=”chino” css=””][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]

UNIT B07

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]

B07 Residential Unit – Interior Architecture Description

B07 is a thoughtfully designed one-bedroom residential unit characterized by a clear spatial organization and a strong relationship to its surrounding landscape. The interior layout is conceived as an open-plan living environment in which the kitchen, dining, and living areas are seamlessly integrated, allowing for both spatial continuity and functional flexibility.

The primary living space opens toward a west-facing terrace that functions as an extension of the interior, offering a pleasant outdoor living area enveloped by dense green vegetation. In addition, a secondary south-facing terrace—conceived as a visual rather than accessible outdoor space—introduces natural light and greenery into the unit, reinforcing a sense of openness and visual depth throughout the interior.

The kitchen has been carefully dimensioned for daily comfort and efficiency. Custom-designed cabinetry systems were developed specifically for this unit, ensuring optimal storage and ease of use. Built-in appliances, including the oven and microwave, are positioned below conventional counter height to improve ergonomics and reduce physical strain during everyday use. Material selection and detailing emphasize clarity, durability, and a contemporary aesthetic.

Furnishing and lighting were conceived as integral components of the interior architecture. Tasteful modern furniture was selected to complement the spatial proportions, while lighting fixtures were fully planned and coordinated by the architects to enhance both functional and atmospheric qualities of the spaces.

The bedroom is designed as a calm and functional private zone, incorporating a study desk, integrated drawers, and generous closet storage. The master bedroom enjoys direct access to the exterior terrace, further strengthening the indoor–outdoor connection and enhancing the sense of retreat.

The entrance hall is articulated as a welcoming transitional space with direct visual connections to the garden and terrace beyond. It includes a small seating area for everyday use, such as changing shoes, as well as a built-in coat closet that together maintains visual order and spatial clarity.

The bathroom design is based on clearly defined wet and dry zones. The shower enclosure is oriented to form a visual buffer toward the sink area. Recessed ceiling details were introduced selectively in the bathroom and bedroom to accommodate lighting solutions.

Finally, a custom-designed shelving and cabinet system walls the dining area, next to the centrally positioned round dining table. This built-in element reinforces the spatial hierarchy of the open-plan layout while providing both storage and visual continuity.

Overall, the B07 unit reflects a holistic interior architecture approach in which spatial planning, custom detailing, furniture, and lighting are conceived as a cohesive whole, resulting in a functional, contemporary, and landscape-oriented residential environment.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”2375,2376,2377,2378,2379,2380,2381,2382,2383,2384,2385,2386,2387″ css=””][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”2373″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” onclick=”img_link_large” css=””][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””] Pichler Park Interior Design Part 3: [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””] Project Brief – Interior Design Phase III: The two units located in Building B and Shed 14 were selected for interior architectural design by the Pichler Park company.
